2. Rain

I’ve never been a big fan of rain. I don’t like getting wet or having to towel myself dry. I don’t like water in general, but it’s fine when it’s below me.

When it rains water obviously comes from above, and I do not like it.

Even now, while I’m sitting at home, watching the rain from behind the window I don’t like it. What if someone’s outside during this downpour? Dad says I worry too much for others, but Pappa seems to think it’s fine to worry. I don’t like worrying all that much, but I guess it’s better than only thinking of myself.

I do worry about other people, but I mainly worry about my closest, non-human friend.

Reggi…

I wonder where Reggi lives. I’ve never seen his house. Does he even have one? Do Ikai have houses? Is he sheltered from the rain?

As on command I see a familiar silhouette approach my house. It’s Reggi, and he’s dripping wet.

I obviously rush outside to see if he’s fine, and I thank every god in existence he is. Reggi is never bothered by anything (aside from mice that is), so he just asks me with a big grin if it’s okay to spend the night over. I don’t object, because it’ll be fun with him over!

Before we go inside Reggi grabs my hand, and gives it a reassuring squeeze. “Is there s0mething wrong?” I ask, worried. Reggi just shrugs and says “I know you’re not the person for PDA, and I know you hate getting wet, so I’m just squeezing your hand right now because I know I can’t hug you and you will throw a fit later because I made you come outside.”

I do get pissed at him later, but Reggi just hugs me and tells me he’ll tie his ‘tail-mane‘ around my wrist as an apology (I don’t know how that works, but then again I’m not an Ikai like he is).

But still: I think that being with Reggi makes up being out in the rain.
